The Strength to Show Up: Natoshia Mouser Lives the Redhound Way

Some people make an impact through the things they accomplish. Others make an impact simply by the way they show up for the people around them.

Natoshia Mouser, a special education teacher at Corbin Primary School, is one of those people.

Each day, Natoshia walks into school with a smile, a kind word, and a steady commitment to the students and families she serves. What others may not always see is the strength it takes to show up that way.

Natoshia has experienced the profound heartbreak of losing both her mother and father. At the same time, she has stood beside her family as they navigate her niece’s diagnosis of DIPG. Through circumstances that would understandably leave anyone searching for their footing, Natoshia continues to choose kindness, optimism, and presence.

She doesn't do it for recognition. She simply keeps showing up.

That same spirit extends beyond her classroom. As a coach’s wife, Natoshia is often the person working quietly behind the scenes—organizing, supporting, encouraging, and helping manage the countless moving pieces that come with a season. She gives her time and energy freely to coaches, players, families, and her community, often without anyone knowing just how much she has done.

In Natoshia, we see two powerful parts of the Redhound Way come together: Resilience and Work Ethic.

Resilience is more than simply getting through difficult circumstances. It is the ability to continue moving forward with purpose and to remain grounded in who you are, even when life is difficult. Natoshia demonstrates that kind of strength every day.

And her work ethic is equally evident. She takes responsibility for the people and commitments entrusted to her. She gives generously of herself. She does the work that needs to be done, often quietly and without being asked.

Natoshia reminds us that some of the most meaningful work we do may never appear on a checklist or receive applause. Sometimes, it looks like showing up with a smile when your heart is heavy. Sometimes, it looks like quietly carrying a responsibility because you know someone else is counting on you. And sometimes, it simply looks like choosing to bring a little light into someone else's day.

Natoshia doesn't just teach our students about the Redhound Way.

She lives it.

Her strength, her service, and the grace with which she shows up for others are a powerful example of the character we hope every Redhound carries—not just through school, but throughout a lifetime.
