Public Comments During Board Meetings

Board meetings are open to the public, and community members are welcome to make a public comment during the meeting.

To speak, sign in on the attendance sheet when you arrive. The chairperson must recognize you before you begin.

When called on, please state your name first and address the board as a group. Comments are limited to 3–5 minutes.

Public comment is a chance to share your perspective — it isn't a question-and-answer session, and board members won't respond or engage in dialogue during the meeting.

The chairperson may end a speaker's remarks if they become repetitive, abusive, harassing, or disruptive to the meeting.

Individual grievances or complaints should be directed through the district's grievance procedure, which gives those involved the opportunity to respond. If you have a question about board business, you're welcome to submit it in writing to the board office, and we'll do our best to respond in writing.
