Our Programs

Our Vision

Corbin Preschool Center's vision is to provide a stimulating early childhood environment that prompts each child’s social/emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Montessori:

Montessori education is student-led and self-paced but guided, assessed, and enriched by knowledgeable teachers, the leadership of their peers, and a nurturing environment. The classroom is designed to create natural opportunities for independence, citizenship, and accountability. Students learn to think critically and work collaboratively.

Traditional Preschool:

The Traditional Preschool Program incorporates play-based strategies that activate the imagination to work on self-help and social skills such as generating friendships. Centers are utilized in the classroom to teach: literacy and reading, dramatic play, nature/science, fine motor, and gross motor skills. The teacher guides the children through various station activities, group activities, and the schedule of the day.

Students residing in the Corbin Independent School District can receive Traditional Preschool at no cost if: they are four by August 1 (pending income qualification) or when they turn three (pending qualification with a disability).

Both Montessori and Traditional Preschool utilize the KY Early Childhood Standards to align instruction to prepare students for Kindergarten readiness.

Wrap Around Child Care:

Wrap Around Child Care is offered at an additional cost for students.  Wrap around child care begins after preschool and extends until 5:00 PM.  It is also open from 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM on some days when our district is not in session.  Space is limited for this program.
