Corbin Preschool is an early childhood educational center that offers tuition classes to prepare students for primary school. Children are accepted from 1 to 5 years of age. Child enrollment is approximately 125 children.

Corbin Preschool Center offers four programs, Montessori, Traditional Preschool, Early Start, and Afterschool Child Care. All programs offered by Corbin Preschool Center are licensed under the Kentucky Department of Education and the Cabinet for Families and Children. More information on each of these programs is provided below.

Corbin Preschool Center Rates:

Half Day Preschool:
8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Full Day Preschool: 
8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Early Start: 
7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The Montessori Program is founded on the concepts of hands-on learning. The physical, social and cognitive skills are also valued through this program. 

Corbin Montessori Program Details: 
• 5 days a week: Monday - Friday

• Full Day Session: 8 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

• Half Day Sessions: 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. or 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.

• Meals are included.

The Montessori Program is founded on the concepts of hands-on learning. The physical, social and cognitive skills are also valued through this program. 

Montessori is a child-centered educational approach to learning based on the work of Dr. Maria Montessori. Knowing that every child is eager for knowledge, this program provides guided learning through a variety of experiences.

• Focus on key developmental stages of childhood for learning.

• Montessori learning inspires creativity in preschoolers.

• Montessori is highly individualized for each student.

• The curriculum is focused on hands-on learning.
Traditional Preschool:

Traditional Preschool is a state funded program offering free preschool to qualifying families of children 3 to 4 years old. This program works closely with parents in order to encourage involvement in their child’s education. Children who will be 4 years of age by August 1st, reside in the Corbin Independent School District, and qualify for free lunch status may be provided free preschool services. Children who are 3 years of age may also qualify due to a disability regardless of family income.

Traditional Preschool Details:
• 4 days a week: Monday - Thursday

• Half Day Sessions Only: 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. or 
  12 p.m. - 3 p.m.

• Transportation is provided to and from Traditional Preschool

Traditional Preschool provides a comprehensive early childhood curriculum that emphasizes literacy and family involvement.

Benefits of this program include the following:

• Encouragement of children to explore and learn by doing.

• Providing a balance of activities that includes active play and structured events.

• Encouragement of problem-solving and critical thinking skill activities.

• Providing an environment of acceptance to help develop a positive self-concept.

• Providing positive child-child and adult-child interactions.
Early Start:

The Corbin Early Start Program provides child care and educational services for children ages 1 to 2. This program is based on the Creative Curriculum and the teachers have been trained to provide sound framework of early childhood education with an emphasis on social development. 

Early Start Program Details:
• 5 days a week: Monday - Friday

• Offered 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. daily

• Meals included in tuition price

• A classroom environment that focuses on building your child's cognitive, emotional, social, and physical skills.

• Age-appropriate activities and materials that help your child master important learning concepts.

• Regular teacher-family communication, including daily updates to keep you informed.

• Engaging small and large-group experiences.
​Afterschool Child Care:

Afterschool Childcare services are provided for students after preschool until 5:30 p.m. and on days Corbin Independent School District is not in session, 
7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
