Corbin Preschool Center Rights and Responsibilities
Parents Right's
Parents have the right to:
- Know that the health, safety and comfort of your child will be attended to at all times.
- Know that their child is participating in developmentally appropriate activities while attending the center.
- Participate in decisions concerning how your child spends time while at the center.
- Be notified of the daily schedule, as well as programs and activities scheduled for your child.
- Share concerns with the staff and administration in an appropriate setting at a scheduled time.
- Know if there are concerns regarding your child's development including cognitive, motor, language, social or health-related issues.
- Be notified if your child becomes ill or sustains an injury while attending the center.
- Be notified if your child will be traveling to any place other than the center during the day.
- Be addressed and treated in a respectful manner by center staff at all times.
Parent’s Responsibilities
Parents have the responsibility to:
- Notify the center if your child will not be attending for 3 consecutive days or longer or will no longer be attending the center.
- Notify the center if your child has been diagnosed with a communicable disease.
- Pick-up your child if they become ill or injured at the center in a timely manner.
- Observe and follow the rules and procedures of the center.
- Listen to concerns regarding pick-up authorization, contacts, health records and other personal information in a current and accurate manner.
- Pay tuition and fees in a timely manner.
- Maintain your child’s information regarding pick-up authorization, contacts, health records and other personal information in a current and accurate manner.
- Pick-up you child on time.
- Disclose to the center any and all special concerns, needs or issues regarding your child at the time of enrollment or as they arise after attending the center.
- Disclose custody agreements and arrangements with the center at the time of enrollment or immediately upon the change of the current situation.
- Be respectful to the staff of the center at all times.
Children’s Rights
Children have the right to:
- A healthy, safe and comfortable environment.
- Access to the use of equipment, space and materials on an equal basis.
- Be appreciated for their individuality and personal differences.
- Have their ideas and feelings and respected.
- Express their feelings and thoughts in an appropriate manner.
- Express their creative ability.
- Be encouraged to explore and discover.
- Be exposed to a developmentally-appropriate and stimulating environment and activities.
- Be surrounded by staff members who put the highest priority on the child’s care and always act in the child’s best interest.
Children’s Responsibilities
Children have the responsibility to:
- Children need to be responsible for:
- Learning to take the consequences for their own actions.
- Following the rules of the center.
- Learning to control their feelings in an appropriate manner.
- Not harming anyone or oneself.
- Taking care of the equipment and property of the center.
- Working toward self-sufficiency and independence.
- Respecting others’ feelings and space.
