Corbin Preschool Center Rights and Responsibilities

Parents Right's

Parents have the right to:

  1. Know that the health, safety and comfort of your child will be attended to at all times.
  2. Know that their child is participating in developmentally appropriate activities while attending the center.
  3. Participate in decisions concerning how your child spends time while at the center.
  4. Be notified of the daily schedule, as well as programs and activities scheduled for your child. 
  5. Share concerns with the staff and administration in an appropriate setting at a scheduled time.
  6. Know if there are concerns regarding your child's development including cognitive, motor, language, social or health-related issues.
  7. Be notified if your child becomes ill or sustains an injury while attending the center.
  8. Be notified if your child will be traveling to any place other than the center during the day.
  9. Be addressed and treated in a respectful manner by center staff at all times.

Parent’s Responsibilities

Parents have the responsibility to:

  1. Notify the center if your child will not be attending for 3 consecutive days or longer or will no longer be attending the center.
  2. Notify the center if your child has been diagnosed with a communicable disease.
  3. Pick-up your child if they become ill or injured at the center in a timely manner.
  4. Observe and follow the rules and procedures of the center.
  5. Listen to concerns regarding pick-up authorization, contacts, health records and other personal information in a current and accurate manner.
  6. Pay tuition and fees in a timely manner.
  7. Maintain your child’s information regarding pick-up authorization, contacts, health records and other personal information in a current and accurate manner.
  8. Pick-up you child on time.
  9. Disclose to the center any and all special concerns, needs or issues regarding your child at the time of enrollment or as they arise after attending the center. 
  10. Disclose custody agreements and arrangements with the center at the time of enrollment or immediately upon the change of the current situation. 
  11. Be respectful to the staff of the center at all times.

Children’s Rights

Children have the right to:

  1. A healthy, safe and comfortable environment.
  2. Access to the use of equipment, space and materials on an equal basis.
  3. Be appreciated for their individuality and personal differences.
  4. Have their ideas and feelings and respected.
  5. Express their feelings and thoughts in an appropriate manner.
  6. Express their creative ability.
  7. Be encouraged to explore and discover.
  8. Be exposed to a developmentally-appropriate and stimulating environment and activities.
  9. Be surrounded by staff members who put the highest priority on the child’s care and always act in the child’s best interest.

Children’s Responsibilities

Children have the responsibility to:

  1. Children need to be responsible for:
  2. Learning to take the consequences for their own actions.
  3. Following the rules of the center.
  4. Learning to control their feelings in an appropriate manner.
  5. Not harming anyone or oneself.
  6. Taking care of the equipment and property of the center.
  7. Working toward self-sufficiency and independence.
  8. Respecting others’ feelings and space.
